DNA Discussion Project

Welcome to the DNA Discussion Project

The DNA Discussion Project encourages the West Chester University community to talk about diversity in a new, positive and engaging way.

Since the project started in 2006, it has provided ancestry DNA tests to hundreds of students, faculty, and staff at the University, local schools and the West Chester community to help them find out who they really are. We invite you to follow the links on this website to learn more about the project, to contact us for more information, or to learn how to participate.

The Human Genome: Who do we think we are?

As we learn more about genomic variation in specific populations and groups, more robust tests are being developed to help you decipher your ancestral origins. But, before you take one, you need to be aware that the results of these tests may alter your perception of your family history and even of yourself.

Together we can change the world: One DNA Test at a Time

The labels that define us often divide us. But what if your DNA could change the conversation about identity and race? One professor and her students are proving it can. Learn more about the Ancestry.com DNA Discussion project

DNA Discussion Project: Ancestry DNA

Featured in The New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post, and the BBC, the DNA Discussion Project is changing the conversation about race and identity, one AncestryDNA test at a time.
